The Southern Baptist Convention

Who Are Southern Baptists?

For more than 170 years, Southern Baptists have sought to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people everywhere. Southern Baptists believe that the Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to mankind, with His ultimate disclosure being the Gospel message of redemption through Jesus Christ. For that reason, Southern Baptists have summarized their biblical convictions in a confession of faith called The Baptist Faith and Message.

What is the Southern Baptist Convention?

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is an organization designed to promote and further the maximum impact for Kingdom missions and ministries. Those ministries comprise missionaries, with their families, who are supported and trained by the SBC, and who travel to communities worldwide to spread the Good News - the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is the Cooperative Program?

The Cooperative Program is our unified plan of giving, through which the cooperating churches give a percentage of our undesignated income in support of our respective state Convention, and the wider Southern Baptist Convention missions and ministries.
